Stuffing box
The stuffing box is a comparably simple and extremely robust shaft seal for WITTE gear pumps. This can be designed, if necessary, as a double seal with buffering medium. A braided packing made of expanded pure graphite with textile fiber is normally used; other materials are available depending on the application.
